Weekly Training Report!

While I didn’t necessarily get as high of mileage as I wanted, I’m okay with it being a smaller mileage week. There were several things we had going on this week that kind of played into a smaller mileage week. We had my wife’s college reunion to go to, it was blazing hot, and several nights I didn’t sleep that great. Still, my running was still decent. I’m going to start putting in more quality running as you’ll see in the “weekly training report” for the next few weeks. This week was a 07:24 per mile average which is still pretty good!

Weekly Training Report: Total – 70.4 miles.
Run Total – 70.4 miles.
Hike Total – 0 miles.
Bike Total – 0 miles.

Sunday June 19 – 6 mile run.

Sunday, I ran 6 miles in 00:39:24. We spent the afternoon and evening in a different part of town, so I ran in and around a park.

Monday June 20 – 8.2 mile run.

I ran in the evening Monday. 8.2 miles in 00:56:14.

Tuesday June 21 – 21 miles.

Tuesday, I set an alarm for a little bit earlier to beat the heat and complete the morning run. I ran 7.15 miles in 00:54:07  In the evening, we went down to the Maryville-Alcoa greenway. I ran 13.85 miles in 01:36:50. My wife rode her bike along side me for about 8 miles, then I completed the rest on my own.

Wednesday June 22 – 15.5 miles.

In the morning I ran 6.2 miles in 00:43:39. In the evening, I ran 9.3 miles. I felt good in the beginning of the run. I was planning on running 14 or 15 miles. My stomach decided that it didn’t want me to go that far. Mid-run I had to make a sudden pit stop into a wooded area and leave part of myself there. After the hounds were released, my legs just wouldn’t turn over like the did before the incident. I jogged home, completion time for the 9.3 miles was 01:09:46

Thursday June 23 – 13.5 miles.

In the evening I ran 10.4 miles with my wife biking next to me in 01:16:53, then I jogged a slow 3.1 miles with the foothill striders group in 00:29:38.

Friday June 24 – 3 miles.

In the morning I ran a slow 3 miles in 00:25:35 before we headed up to the Lexington, KY area for day 1 of my wife’s college reunion. I wanted to get an evening run in, but it didn’t happen.

Saturday June  25 – 3.2 miles.

Saturday I ran 3.2 miles in 00:23:58. I ran that run with my buddy, James. I wanted to run more, but due to time constraints of the college reunion and other things, there was no time.


There were several factors that led to this weekly training report having fewer miles.

Regardless, there are no excuses, but it felt nice to reduce the miles a little bit. The running routes I have around my house are the pretty much the same day in and day out, so when I get the change to run elsewhere, I take advantage of that as much as I can.
