I am now officially registered for the Horse Capital Marathon!
I am very excited and thankful for this opportunity that the Horse Capital Marathon!
This will be the 2nd annual Kentucky Ale Horse Capital Marathon. I am pleased to say that my friend’s company, SWORD is sponsoring the event and I’ll proudly be wearing their singlet during my races. Not only are the two founders phenomenally nice people, but they built the products from a scientific and research background to give athletes what they need. Even Wesley Korir, the 2012 Boston Marathon Champion, drinks SWORD! He happened to also finish 4th at the 2016 Boston Marathon, too, how cool!
Back to the Horse Capital Marathon, I’m so glad that it worked out to get a spot for the marathon, as I’ve known for a few weeks now that it may be a possibility. But… now it’s official and it is happening! I’m hoping for a 2:45 to 2:50 for the Horse Capital Marathon in Lexington, KY. The course is basically nothing but rolling hills, but I feel like I’m getting in better shape every day.
The Horse Capital Marathon takes place on May 21st which is three weeks after the Derby Festival Marathon on April 30th. I’m still unsure whether or not I’ll be pacing my friend along the Derby or if we’re going to be running our own paces. Regardless, it’ll be a great day to run, great time to catch up with friends, and a great time to represent SWORD! And with the Horse Capital Marathon, I’ll be hard-charging that to try to set a PR, go for a top five overall and to try to represent my friend’s company proudly.
I’m so excited, thanks for reading. Here in a few weeks, after the race, there will be a race recap post!
