One of my “Big Goal” races for 2016 is the 2016 Greenway Marathon!

I’m really gunning to set a huge PR (Personal Record) at the 2016 Greenway Marathon. It’s a relatively flat course and is an out-and-back style, too. The course runs along some of the greenways in Nashville, hence the name. It also runs through some of the golf courses in the area. The two main hilly areas you can see in the elevation image below are along the 2 Rivers Golf Course.

I still have a little less than 12 weeks until the 2016 Greenway Marathon on October 2, 2016. I feel like I am getting into better and better shape as the time passes. I may even be doing a half marathon around the Nashville area a few weeks before so I can test my legs.

My big goal for the 2016 Greenway Marathon is to run a 2:34:59.

That is the same as a 5:54 per mile average. It’s a BIG goal for sure and I’ve got a lot of work to do over the next several weeks, too. My current marathon personal record is 2:58 which was at the Kentucky Ale Horse Capital Marathon in May. That event was pretty hilly, so I think with a relatively flat course I should be able to crank out some decent speed and hold it.

As of right now, the 2016 Greenway Marathon is the next race I’ll be doing. I’ve got a few little track meets in between now and then. I’m not signed up for any other races. We may be going to Nashville 2 weeks before the 2016 Greenway Marathon to celebrate a friend’s birthday. During that trip, if we go, I may register and race in the Hendersonville Half Marathon. That race would be a good test race to see how my legs have done with the training.

Anyways, I’m excited for the 2016 Greenway Marathon and I’m excited to continue training hard!
